Oilers release statement on departure of Tyler King

OKOTOKS, AB (June 21, 2024) — The Okotoks Oilers would like to thank Tyler King for his tireless efforts during his three seasons in our organization as Assistant GM, Business Operations.

Tyler joined the Oilers in 2021, overseeing all off-ice operations of the team. He led the organization through COVID-19 pandemic restrictions during his first season and also played an instrumental role in guiding the team’s transition into the BCHL in January 2024.

During his second and third seasons with the Oilers, Tyler served as the main play-by-play voice of the team on The Eagle 100.9 FM in Okotoks and online streaming platforms. The Oilers won four playoff series during Tyler’s tenure, including two in the 2022 postseason.

The Oilers will share details about additions to our own staff in the coming weeks. Our Board of Directors and staff thank Tyler and wish him all the best in the future.
